When addressing a chip in your windshield, there are two important points to consider:

1. The chip will never fully disappear. While it’s disappointing news, the repair will reduce its visibility to some extent. Think of it like repairing a broken coffee cup – the glued pieces may function as intended, but the cracks remain visible. Similarly, the primary aim of a chip repair is to restore the glass’s structural integrity. Although the chip blemish may still be noticeable, you won’t have to worry about it spreading further.
2. There’s always a risk of the chip spreading during the repair process. Despite being uncommon, it’s crucial to acknowledge this possibility. The repair process involves drilling into the damaged area to create a pathway for resin. While injecting the resin, pressure is applied to the damaged area, posing a slight risk of further spreading.
